An LTSA includes:

1. Regular Maintenance
2. Unexpected Repairs
3. Remote monitoring and Diagnostics

The LTSA covers not only the gas engine, but also the main Peripheral equipment and Auxiliary systems of the CHP installation, including:

The objective is to provide customers with a structured long-term maintenance strategy, predictable service planning and continuous technical support for the complete CHP installation, helping to maintain high availability and reliable operation throughout its operating life.

Maintenance Services

A.EI.M.A. provides comprehensive maintenance services covering regular maintenance, unexpected repairs, remote monitoring and preventive checks, with the objective of maintaining high availability and reliable operation of the CHP installation.

Regular Maintenance

Regular maintenance of the Gas engine and Generator and the main Peripheral & Auxiliary Equipment is carried out according to the applicable manufacturers’ maintenance intervals, operating hours and actual condition of the equipment. Following the maintenance schedules helps ensure high availability, reliable operation and controlled maintenance costs, while allowing potential technical issues to be identified at an early stage.

Unexpected Repairs

When an unexpected fault or operational issue occurs, A.EI.M.A.’s technical team provides remote troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and corrective intervention with the objective of restoring the CHP unit to reliable operation as quickly as possible. Field technicians are supported by the Technical & Service Back Office, enabling close coordination between on-site intervention, remote diagnostics and specialist technical analysis.

Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics

Remote monitoring enables A.EI.M.A.’s Technical Back Office personnel to evaluate the operating condition of CHP units by reviewing operating parameters, alarms and diagnostic information — supporting early identification of abnormal operating conditions, more effective troubleshooting and improved maintenance planning. Remote diagnostics also allow personnel to assess a fault before an on-site intervention and, where possible, prepare the Field Technicians with the required technical information, specialized tools and spare parts.

Preventive Checks & Condition Monitoring

In addition to regular maintenance, A.EI.M.A. performs specialized preventive checks and condition-monitoring activities to assess the mechanical and operating condition of the CHP equipment. These activities may include:

These checks may support the early identification of developing technical issues, allowing maintenance actions to be planned before they result in unexpected downtime.

Major Engine Overhaul

At the end of the gas engine’s first major operating cycle, A.EI.M.A. performs the Major Engine Overhaul in accordance with the applicable maintenance schedule and technical requirements.

The Major Engine Overhaul is performed using an Exchange Long Block supplied by Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH (MWM), significantly reducing plant downtime compared with a conventional on-site overhaul.

Depending on the project and site requirements, the Long Block replacement can be carried out at the customer’s site or at A.EI.M.A.’s in-house workshop.

The generator major overhaul is also coordinated by A.EI.M.A. and carried out at a specialized generator workshop.
